Abstract

Science communication represents a real challenge for the scientific community, even more within the pandemic context; a challenge that is essential to guarantee research and innovation processes to be aligned with the needs, values and expectations of society. This report presents a case study related to disseminating a scientific event in the field of social sciences: the 2021 edition of the Officine Educazione Futuri, a participatory conference with virtual tables involving different societal actors that is annually organized by the National Research Council of Italy, moving from various European projects, in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Education and the UNESCO Futures of Education initiative. Based on the analysis of the adopted communication strategy, through both social media and more traditional tools like website and newsletters, we propose recommendations to improve the communication of scientific events.
